Meet Mary Jean Lucas, but call her MJ...

Hey friend, I’m MJ — a digital storyteller, glow-up mentor, content creator, proud single mama, and forever K-pop stan. I’m just like you — a woman who’s been through life’s unexpected plot twists and decided to turn her pain into power, and her passions into purpose.

As a kid...

Cooking was my first love. The magic of garlic hitting the pan, the sizzle of scrambled eggs in fried rice — it was pure joy. I learned at age 10 that food wasn’t just nourishment. It was love, connection, and creativity. As the youngest of seven in a big immigrant Filipino family, I found solace and imagination in the kitchen — even while living with 25 people in one house. Yes, ONE bathroom. The struggle was real.

Tragedy struck early when I lost my dad at age 4. My mom became my superhero, working two jobs, sneaking me into work when she had no sitter, and later hustling to get me into private school. Watching her strength shaped me — and planted the seeds of entrepreneurship.

The Hustle Years

I was always dreaming of a cafe, of boba and baked goods, of creating a space where every plate told a story. I sold 500 homemade lumpia at a school fundraiser and felt the rush of sharing something I loved. That feeling never left.

But life got lifey. I couldn’t afford college and started working at a movie theater instead. 16.5 years later, I’d climbed to general manager… and crashed. Burnout, corporate chaos, and toxic politics drained my soul. I gave them everything — and left with nothing but exhaustion and a $0.50 raise.

That job didn’t just take my time — it almost took my spark. But God had other plans.

The things that didn't go as planned...

Quitting was scary… but it gave me something I hadn’t had in years: freedom.

Freedom to heal. To walk. To cook again. To be present with my daughter. To travel. To fangirl unapologetically at BTS concerts and sob through K-dramas. To discover nature trails, read books, and sip matcha while working on my dreams instead of someone else’s.

That’s when I found the world of digital marketing. And it changed everything.

Now? I’m building my own brand and community from the ground up. I’m using AI, content, storytelling, and social strategy to turn my passions into purpose — and I’m helping other women do the same.

I may not have all the results yet, but trust — I'm laying every brick intentionally. And I’m walking proof that it’s never too late to start.
